Our Bike Fitting service is as follows:

Visit One

Step One – previous position and routine of cycling. In this part I will take a short time going through the type of riding you cover and the time spent in the saddle. I will look at your position and using Wattbike technology have a look at the effinciy within your pedal stroke and point out or key areas to improve. I will then save this and will compare with the new results later.

Step Two – once I am happy with the infomation we have gathered from the previous position I will now move onto the new position. Using several proven techniques I will start with the feet and cleat position. I will then look at the posture of the rider and current flexiblity. A further chat will be had about day to day routines and from here I will gather enough info to work out your optimum starting position, ‘starting’ being the key word.

Step Three – here is when I get you on the jig and start with the gathered measurements from the previous tests. At this step I will move you about and talk you through how and why I am making the adjustments. Once happy with the position I will complete another couple of tests and confirm the position is correct. Here is where the ‘starting position comes into play’. Once you’re happy and all answers and queries have been covered, I will measure out the cycle talking about any major changes and then send you away to complete a set amount of miles.

Visit Two

– Now I have you back in store I can move on the the next step. Here is where the ‘starting’ position has had enough time to settle down and I can tackle any niggles and questions you may have. I will complete another pedal stroke test and analyse the results. I will talk you through now in depth the changes in which we will be able to assess together. By now I am hoping to have passed on enough knowledge so you the rider can understand the steps I have taken to ensure you understand and can appreciate the new position. At this point I will make any final adjustments and once happy will set in stone another mile target. This target will normally take 4-6 months.

Visit Three

– By then you will have achieved what hopefully has been the comfiest miles to date. That does not mean we are finished. Within the cost you are fully entitled to a final check over. This is beneficial as a long amount of time some sometimes show minor niggles which are very easy to fix but still very important to the process. If you feel perfect and are happy then that’s great but we still advise the short visit to finalise any questions you may have.

Bookings for the fits can be made over the phone on 01622752695 or via email F.A.O. Paul to info@senacrecycles.co.uk

Feedback from our customers

After riding and racing for 20 years I decided to have a bike fit with Paul down at Senacre Cycles, gotta say what a difference it’s made, Paul’s attention to detail and experience made it an invaluable experience! Feel more solid and planted, just goes to show you can teach an old dog new tricks!

Having been 2 years since my last bike fit (not with Paul) I thought it time to get checked over and boy I am glad I did. I can honestly say that the whole process was a joy, Paul leaves no stone unturned in ensuring that you are in the correct position on the bike, explaining in detail why each measurement is taken and what impact it has on your pedal stroke, muscles etc. Paul is focused on ensuring that you are riding the bike in the most efficient and comfortable way by using a mixture of state of the art technology and good old knowledge and judgement, right from the start you can tell he knows exactly what he is talking about. Any outlay in a bike fit is money well spent, especially with Paul – It’s an investment that pays dividends.

I decide to have a bike fit after years of cycling. I went to Senacre Cycles as I had heard great things from the people I cycle with. I went along and spent time with Paul and found out my bike was setup all wrong for me. He spent time explaining things to me and adjusting my bike so fitted me properly. After all the adjustment I went round the block for a quick spin. It felt like a new bike and so much faster.

When I went to with my club at the weekend for a ride it was so much more comfortable and seemed so much faster the best upgrade you could spend your money on. Being comfortable and in the right position is much more important than a new set of wheels.

Thank you Paul.

As a newbie to cycling I’d been riding for the last 6 months of 2016 on a Trek 7.6 cross over bike. The team at my cycling club (Grain Peninsula Cycle Club) had been nagging me to get a proper road bike. I did my research and decided to take a look at the Giant and Liv range as a couple of the members had just gotten new Giants. I really liked the style of the bike, but did not have a clue about what would be right for me (I’m quite tall). One of the recommend bike shops for these two brands was Senacre Cycles in Maidstone, I made an appointment and went to visit Paul at the shop. Paul then invested just over an hour of his time, advising, helping and most importantly explaining different bikes, fits and components. I felt able to make an informed decision on what bike would be right for me and duly ordered a Liv Envie Advanced 1 2017. Paul explained that when the bike arrived we would book a fitting appointment so that they could fit the bike properly to me. When my bike arrived (I call her Bee) Paul then spent 3 & half hours fitting, explaining and making sure I knew what he was doing and why. The level of both professionalism, time, care & attention was second to none and nothing, no question or query was too much trouble. I’ve been riding Bee since Christmas Day and have so far clocked 137km (85 miles) and I quite simply cannot get enough. She fits me perfectly and is so comfortable, one of the guys said the other day that bike fits you so well. This year I’m taking part in quite a few events (sportives) and undertaking 210 miles in 3 days on the Great Kent Cycle ride in July. None of this would have been possible or likely without the right bike. I’m even more in love with cycling than I was before. I cannot thank Senacre and Paul enough for all the advice, help and assistance given so far, I highly recommend them to everyone. Cos #actuallyican #justagirlwholovestocycle

It was in Feb 2015 that Senacre Cycles was recommended to me and I walked in on a dull day and bought my first ever road bike. Since then, the time has flown and so have I on my bike!

I had joined The Weald Tri Club for fun and throughout the year entered some triathlons and found myself winning my category at some events. A friend of a friend suggested I look into representing GB in my age category – sometimes known as Super Vet!

Hence, last year, I entered a duathlon qualifier and qualified to go to the World Duathlon Championship Finals in Spain in June. After I qualified, I thought who can I get to help me with this: it all felt very overwhelming. One of my ideas was to ask Senacres and I called up and spoke to Paul who listened to my nervous gibberish! He replied, offering me a bike fit and support at preparing for my races. “What did I think”? “Perfect”, and it really was. I was still nervous that he would blind me with bike jargon and stats, but no, he pitched it perfectly, and gave me some further confidence. Not only did he help me by adapting my bike position but also with some technic and nutrition tips.

I came 5th in Spain and then went on to the World Triathlon Championship Finals in Mexico where I came 9th. So 2017 here we come! I’ll soon join Paul to plan out the year and how I can perhaps get more out of my bike, or might I upgrade?!
